Dr. Jordan served as president of Gallaudet University from 1988 to 2006, becoming the first Deaf person to lead the institution. A psychologist by training, he earned degrees from Gallaudet and the University of Tennessee, later becoming a professor, dean, and influential advocate for people with disabilities worldwide.
